[Vintage-Audio] Re Ray Stevens

There are three different recordings of Ahab. The original LP recording
which is about 3 minutes 47 seconds, a live full orchestral version which is
almost as long and the 45 version which is considerably shorter, accounting
for the apparent story discontinuity near the end created by the deleted
lyric.

Now for the question, what is the story of the two distinctly different
recordings of Santa Claus Is Watching you?

And, of course we all know of the two versions of Harry The Hairy Ape with
the later Bugaloo Shing-a-Ling, replacing the Mashed Potatoes.

Hi All,

Do any of you remember the 'original' recording by Ray Stevens of "Ahab The
Arab"? If so, then you know there was an additional verse that was removed.
I remembered that verse being there, but have never come across a recording
of the original, not even on a 45 rpm original/reissue. I found it on an old

'Greatest Hits' vinyl album several days ago. I did not even know I had it!

I am curious if any of you remember this extra verse?
