Hey Sheldon,

Thank you very much for the additional effort and additional info!

Now Sheldon, and 'all', have any of you ever heard the original song sung by
the author Hoyt Axton? I was standing in a store called Teletronics in the
Summer of 1974 buying my pair of James B. Lansing Century L-100 speakers. I
paid $300 each, by the way.

There was a song in the background that I had not heard before, nor did i
recognize the vocalist. I inquired of the oung man who and what it was? Hoyt
allowed TDN to record is song and we all know the rest of that story!

Hey! Lights in neuron trace path light up full tilt! I wonder if my idea to
create Frogzilla originated with the infamous frog in "Joy To The World"?
Hmmm.

I have never heard Hoy sing that song since. The version I heard was just
Hoyt on guitar, probably done in his home studio in ... was it Utah or
Idaho? I have looked through all sorts of record stores and inquired about
to every musical expert I encounter. Most did not even know he wrote it!

I did find a copy on a CD, which I instantly plundered the piggy bank and
purchased, but woe to me, it was a live performance and some female did a
duet with him. Personally, I did not care for it. I want the Hoyt ONLY
version.

I also bought a vinyl album of Hoyt singin as a young guy in his twenties.
Wow! He was a second tenor guys, not that harsh bass baritone he ended up
as. If I had not known who it was by the name on the album, I would have
never ever guessed who the singer was. Any of you ever hear him when he was
younger?
