Hi All,

Perhaps one of you know the answer to this RCA Nashville puzzle.

I have heard the Anita Kerr Singers also called the Anita Kerr Quartet.
Granted, there were two females and two males, all singers, four makes a
quartet when doing four part harmony. Now did she have two groups or is this
the same group with a different title?

When Al Hirt recorded his first of four albums in Nashville, "Honey In The
Horn", the Anita Kerr Quartet did the background vocals. On the song
"Talkin' Bout That River", there is definitely a bass singer. He may be
Black, nice voice, hits some low notes. Normally there is a Baritone who
drops down and hits a few bass baritone notes once in a while, but he is
obviously not a Bass. This guy was!

Did Anita Kerr change singers for certain musical venues? (Which would be
hard as heck to do and maintain a tight harmony as was her style!) Or was
there a second group?

This came to mind yesterday as I remastered two Anita Kerr Singers albums
from vinyl to CD for a list subscriber, Robert Nickels, W9RAN. The song
"Talkin' Bout That River" was on one of these albums, but there was no Bass
singing with her. It sounded far better with the bass she had on the Al Hirt
album!

Thanks!
