Rick,

The mechanical working of the deck seems to be fine.
All the rubber is ok. But there is no audio when
playing a tape, and the level meters aren't showing
any response to a signal at the record input. There is
some   DC voltage here and there on the circuit board,
so the power supply is likely ok. But I haven't made
much progress in following a signal through the board.
A schematic would sure make it easier!
