Duane,
I didn't see any responses for your request and I really don't know much 
about these.  However, here are a few comments.

I've read the Yamaha is pretty nice.  Great tuner.  Some like the STK 
power brick IC.  They are cheap to replace if they go out.

I have a pair of original Advent speakers.  I reconed them for <$30.  
Not familar with the 2002 model.  Refoaming was pretty easy but not sure 
if that is something you can do or you would need to hire it out.  Too 
bad you don't live in Minneapolis.  I'd refoam them for you.

If it was me and I had a room that needed a system, I'd use the Yamaha, 
refoam the Advents, might use the sub and throw away the cd player.  
However, your Scott gear is lovely and would be my personal favorite.
