Duane: On the multi play CD unit, those 6 disc magazines were quite
popular. Most were a standard type, but some were model specific. They were
also used in multi disc automobile changers. I have two Sansui CM-6U type
magazines, both work, but one has an "issue" the exact details I cannot
recall. I no longer have the changer. They have a notice on them that says
"This magazine is made by our own system. Not interchangeable with other
manufacturers!". If someone out there has a cross reference from a 1990
catalog, etc. and they work in yours, you can have them. I may have a
standard one at my office, but won't be there until next week. I'll chack.

Subject: [Vintage-Audio] Help With Gear Specs, Please
Hi All,
As some of you know, my home was damaged by water getting into the attic and
causing a sudden and very destructive water leak on top of my
den/office/computer control room desk on September 28th. The contractor who
did the repair work sent his supervisory guy out here to be sure the guys
doing the work were doing it up to the contractor's high standards. Tony and
I got to
chatting when he saw some of my stereo gear.
Some doctor had left behind some stereo gear when he sold the house to Tony
three years ago. Tony discovered it in the garage attic. He had no use for
it
and offered it to me. I accepted it "as is"
I have no manuals and am not familiar with the speakers at all. I would very
much appreciate your opinion as to the value, quality and cost of repairs Vs
value of item. Thanks.
PIONEER MULTI PLAY COMPACT DISK PLAYER. MODEL: PD/M510. APPEARS GOOD
COSMETICALLY.
BUT THE SIX CD HOLDER TRAY IS MISSING. IT SLIDES INTO AN OPENING WITH A
SPRING LOADED DOOR. CAN I FIND ONE ANYWHERE? DOES NOT APPEAR THAT I CAN PLAY
A SINGLE CD WITHOUT IT.
AMPLIFIER/RECEIVER: YAMAHA NATURAL SOUND CR/1020. WOOD CABINET, WEIGHS ABOUT
40 LBS, OUTPUTS FOR SPEAKERS A,B,C NO MENTION OF SURROUND SOUND THOUGH. HAS
AM, FM AND FM STEREO. LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AND APPEARS FULLY FUNCTIONAL.
BDS: BDSW15 15 INCH BOTTOM FIRING SUB WOOFER IN BEAUTIFUL WOOD 18 INCH
SQUARE END TABLE. NO COVER OVER SPEAKER ON BOTTOM, FOAM SUSPENSION IS A
LITTLE SOFT, BUT IT PLAYS WELL. THIS THING WEIGHS 45 LBS!
ADVENT: 2 WAY SPEAKERS. TWEETER WITH 12 INCH WOOFER. FOAM SUSPENSION IS
GONE.
MODEL: 2002 AB014073
CABINETS ARE BEAUTIFUL, GRILLS ARE GOOD, ORIGINAL BOXES. THEY WILL HAVE TO
BE
RECONED. ARE THEY WORTH DOING?
I apologize for the upper case, which is suggestive of a variety of negative
things, so I am told. But I keep all of my notes in solid upper case because
it is easier for me being totally blind to find material by searching
without
having to be concerned about 'case sensitivity'.
Again, thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
