Cheer up! Quad still lives. There is a vinyl record shop 3/4 miles from me with
quad vinyl yet!

I too have lurked and posted only once.

I indeed am interested but there really isn't much to say unless we choose
to sit back and brag, ahem, discuss how wonderful it is and describe in
detail I have this, what have you got?, that being a process of little
value.

My equipment, reel to reels and more, are like my amps (Mac}, reliable and
never needing adjustment or repair, just an occasional cleaning and lube.
Nothing really to spawn questions.

However, my son told me this weekend that the only remaining production
facility for reel to reel tape burned and will not be reconstructed, leaving
no further suppliers. Anyone know of the validity of this?

I am reminded that somewhere I have an Akai quad reel-to-reel that needs a
part. I guess I should drag it out and ask around. But that means that I
would have a fully functional decent quad deck to never use, as it has been
in the current state for over 20 years. But it might be fun. A hunting I
shall go.

Cheers from Minnesota,

Gerry
