Duane,
While I would love to have your Scott I have plenty of vintage gear.
If you exclude my cdp, all my stuff is vintage - ranging from 1959
Lafayette KT600 preamp and Fisher 90R tuner to some late 70s Hafler amps
and preamps. My current system is some Dynaco Mark IIIs (mid 60s),
homebrewed 6sn7 preamp (parts from a 1946 Chicago Webcor wire reel
recorder), Teac 4010s, SACD player and Magneplanar speakers.
I'm sure your gear is in great shape and would put a smile on my face it
is difficult for me to buy something I don't need. I friend at Church
heard I love old tube gear and offered me his old Scott amp. He just
needs to find it at his parents house. A friend offered me their old
Kenwood KR-9600 receiver. This 160w/c monster is beautiful. My uncle
has a pair of mid 60s Bozak speakers for me. I would love to set them
up in the living room but SWMBO isn't very excited about it. I just
fixed my brother in law's Pioneer SX-838 reciever. While I've never
been a fan of Pioneer and never owned a reciever, yet I can see why
people like those 70s monster receivers.
Not sure if this helps but I have a stack of Hafler and Marantz amps;
McIntosh, the KT600 Lafayette, and homebrewed preamps, and several
Dynaco tuners sitting on shelves. I'm not a collector and really don't
want to be. At least I have my Heathkit 8-track player I built in the
70s in my son's room. He is learning guitar and I had to play "Smoke on
the Water" for him.
