First, the apology. I picked up your last message on another computer
and I'm "remembering" the cartridge number, ES-70S
This is the least expensive of the Excell (one or two "l", my catalog
says two) varieties. The stylus is the standard 0.7 mil round and the
Excell number was S-70SR with the Pfanstiehl replacement number of
614-D7. This stylus tracked from 1 to 2.5 grams, the heaviest of the
three listed. The list cost (US) of the stylus in 1989 was $20.
There are alternate styli as well for other versions of the ES-70 which
will probably work as well. The 614-DE is the elliptical cut and the
614-DQ is the one shaped for "Discrete 4 channel".
The cartridge is listed as a "Japanese" source, but no characteristics
are shown.
