I do not know. I bought mine as speakers with no cabinets. I do know they have a
five pound permanent magnet, however.

Would these be the same drivers in the Lancer 33, the LE-8 I think?
I guess $200-$300 is the most I'm able to spend at the moment.

What you did not tell us Michael, is how much you are willing to spend.
You definitely need high efficiency speakers with 8 watts continuous RMS
per channel. If you can find them, the James B. Lansing 8 inch full
range were spectacular! I had a pair in home built White Birch bass
reflex cabinets, (no resonating tube, just a port cut to the proper
specifications), with an EICO amp
with a little mor epower than you have. They were sensational!
I hate myself to this day for selling them to a friend. If I could find
him, and buy them back, I would. But I do not even know if he is alive,
let alone where
he now lives. Nobody I have aksed knows.

Hello, anyone on this list anymore? Duane? Anyone?
I have a question I hope someone will take a shot at. I've acquired my
first low-watt tube amp (okay, it's 8 watts per channel, which is a lot
compared to some amps) and want to get some vintage speakers to go with
it. I don't have a lot of room but could handle what might be considered
a large bookshelf speaker, maybe a little bigger. and I want a stereo
pair. Any suggestions for a older set of speakers, quite efficient, that
would be worth looking into?
Thanks,
Michael Salmons
