Sitting here in a hotel room in San Antonio after a long day of meeting, the
simplest solution is to use 4 speakers per channel hitched so that there are
two parallel combinations connected in series for a total of 8 ohms on the
amp. Everything is balanced at 8 ohms and each speaker will run at one
fourth of total power or 75 watts output per speaker assuming a total of 300
watts out of the amp. However, this will reduce the total sound pressure
considerably (I think). I am not sure how the ear responds to 300 watts of
sound produced by four speakers, each at 75 watts, versus 300 watts produced
by a single source. At this time of day both ends get a little numb,
sitting and thinking. Remember, 10 times the power to be perceived as twice
as loud.
Cheers from Minnesota/Texas (portable),
