Greetings all,

Question:

A Bogen stereo PA amp has 300 watts per side at 4 Ohms. There are two speaker
cabinets per side wired in parallel. The speakers are 8 Ohms. The parallel
wiring drops the impedence of the speakers to 4 Ohms, I think. What about the
300 watts? Divided by two for 150 watts? What if a third cabinet were added?
Divided by three? With thee 8 Ohm speakers, is the impedence still 4 Ohms in
parallel?

If a person has to use more than one speaker, such as 4 Ohm output from the amp
and a 4 Ohm speaker, what is the best way to minimize the power loss?

There seems to be a lot of answers to this, but I am puzzled as to which ones
are actually correct. There seems to be an almost infinite number of variables.

Thank you.
