E.H. Scott was located in Chicago, and got into the radio business in the
1920s. They were one of the "Rolls Royce" quality makers, and their products
are highly sought-after collectors items today. They made some sets for the
gov-mint during WW II, and continued to manufacture right up through the FM
era, although they went out of business before FM Stereo began in 1959.
Herman Hosmer ( H.H. ) Scott began the manufacture of quality audio
components shortly after WW II. One of his first patents was for a noise
reduction scheme, in an attempt to reduce surface pops of the than-current
78 RPM format. His company eventually became one of the major makers of high
quality ( mostly ) audio components during the "Golden Age" of audio. The
two were not related.
