Another thought. When I restored an old Mac I had one of the two cans
go bad. I left both cans in but didn't connect any wires to the bad one.
Then I added individual caps underneath the chassis to make up the
ones in the can. I don't know how much room you have but looking
at your requirements, I wonder if you can do something similar to
at least a couple of replacements.
The 25uF/25VDC caps are pretty small and if you use radial ones, you
can move them around. The 500VDC caps are pretty long so it might be
tough to fit these underneath.
Also, depending how these are used (power supply) and where (right after
tube rectifier, after choke, ...) you may not need *exact* capacitance,
but can use something higher. This might make finding replacements easier.
I have found sites showing how to cut open a can, remove the bad caps,
add new ones and seal up again. I never liked the idea cutting them up
but it might be the only ticket where space is at a premium. Or you don't
like the looks of individual caps mounted on a small board above the chassis.
Have fun,
rick
