[Vintage-Audio] Reel to Reel Alignment tape

After my old alignment tape went south, I began using a good quality 7 1/2
speed pre-recorded R to R tape.

By adjusting for maximum output for height (and head rotation when
adjustable), maximum treble for azimuth and using a very thin tape with a
light shining across and adjusting for smooth unwrinkled flow for.... (darn,
can't remember the right name for the adjustment) anyway tilt, I have had
very good luck with my decks, a Sony TC-730, a Tandberg TD-20A and even a
crossfield head Akai X-200D. Usually, a iteration or two through the
process yields excellent results. Using a borrowed NAB freq. response tape
as a test later I have been able to achieve factory specs or in a couple of
instances, ever so slightly better (although this could be instrumentation
precision).
