[Vintage-Audio] Help! Sony Turntable Croaks!

Bob,
This belt is about .25 wide and has a diameter of 13 inches.
It does not fit around the underside of the rim of the platter, but on a smaller
circle about two thirds the size of the platter.
Is the speed changed by the belt being moved by these mechanics or by the speed
of the motor changing? The buttons do raise a piece of metal higher when the
speed changes from 33 1/3 to 45 rpm. Can't see how that would take up much
tension though.
As soon as somebody is here who can see to read, I will check the plate on the
back for a model number. There is nothing obvious, as I had someone check
before.

Cant find any Sony TT with numbers like that. If it is a rim
drive belt odds are it is a FRX-23.6 a flat belt 23.3 x
0.185 x 0.030 inches. That belt is pretty skinny, 0.185,
most TT belts are 0.25 or so. Sony had a lot of
combinations, but the FRX-23.6 was the most common long
belt.
