I'm somewhat partial to horns, namely Altec-Lansing. My main stereo
speakers are the "Valencia", which are basically a Voice of the Theater in a
pretty cabinet. Downstairs, I have the real deal, an industrial strength
VOT that takes two men to carry and sounds wonderful in "Historic Mono" when
driven by a coupla watts of clean audio. And there's the Bose 901s,
hanging from the ceiling in true 70's hippie style of course.
Other boatanchor stereos drive a pair of University S-10 Lowboys, the big
heavy Heath console with a pair of 12" three-ways, Jensen Duette end-tables
, the Heath "Range Extender", E-V Baronet, and for outdoors use, some way
cool Bozaks that look like Raymond Lowey designed 'em.
Oh and some Jensen cabinets which not only are 12" bass reflex speakers but
also keep things like the SX-62 off the floor. While maybe not quite as
hi-fi as some, if you come across one of these - BUY IT!
Did I mention I'm out of room for speakers? Not that a pair of Klipsch
horns or Stephens Tru-Sonics couldn't turn my head...
