As we approach the end of 2024, the whole executive would like to wish you a Happy Holidays and New Year.

It has been a great year as the club continues to gain momentum recovering from covid, and as many ham radio clubs are shutting down PARC continues to grow.

Ham radio is alive and well in the Peterborough Area.

In 2024 we have had a large expansion and upgrade of the PARC repeater network including:
  • Adding VE3RB
  • Adding VE3TZM
  • Upgrading all the sites to more powerful and reliable Motorola Repeaters

2024 Activities:
  • Workshops are running again
  • Fox hunts are active again
  • A great annual Corn Roast
  • A great Holiday Dinner
  • A hugely successful field day despite the weather (including having two new hams write their license)
  • Saturday Brunch Calls, and in person breakfast
  • Just Learn Morse Courses
  • Basic Amateur Radio License Courses

Education and new Hams:
A huge thank you to Rick VE3RKY who has taken on this file. So far this year we have run three separate basic license courses, and added several educational workshops including the CW courses.

As we finish the year I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the work to make all of this happen, and ask that you would consider serving as the activities director, as nominations are coming up at the January Meeting, and Jordan will be moving to take over the treasurer position allowing Barry VE3BLM to take a break.

I look forward to seeing you all in the new year, and serving as president again.
