This is an invitation to all licensed amateur radio operators who are interested in participating in an ARES/ACS Field Exercise in North Kawartha.

As mentioned in an earlier email, the municipality of North Kawartha is doing Emergency Management Training Tuesday, September 10th and have invited Peterborough ARES/ACS to participate in a Field Exercise as part of their training.  Peterborough ARES/ACS will be setting up portable stations at various locations throughout North Kawartha for a 10:30 am start time. The exercise should end around noon. This exercise will simulate a situation where all conventional communications including internet have failed, causing North Kawartha to declare an emergency and activate their Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Peterborough ARES/ACS will provide communications and emergency traffic to the EOC from various locations throughout North Kawartha.

For those who haven't already replied to me with a confirmation that they will be participating in this exercise, please reply to this email if you wish to participate by Saturday, August 24th, so that I can start planning on locations to setup stations to operate from.

Thanks,
