RE: DONATION OF COBOURG REPEATER EQUIPMENT TO PARC and QARC
Dear PARC and QARC Executive,
This letter documents the proposed donation of Amateur Radio Repeater Equipment to PARC and QARC respectively. This follows the site visit on September 11th where you had an opportunity to inspect the site and equipment.
Access to the CFMX transmitter tower to collocate the Amateur Radio Repeaters is quite special, and something that we’ve carefully respected and managed for 30 years. The site itself is about 1100 feet AMSL, and the antennas we use for the repeaters at least 150 feet up the 500 foot tower.
James Barnes VE3RSJ and I have maintained these repeaters over the last fifteen years or so following the end of the ULR Link System. James and I are pleased to have the repeaters going to clubs that have the membership to support and make use of these repeaters, while also continuing the service of over 30 years in providing Hwy 401 coverage between Oshawa and Brighton.
Kindly review this donation letter, and if you wish to accept this donation, simply raise and pass a motion at your next club meeting to accept the donation and take on responsibility for the repeaters as listed in this letter. A recording of the motion by your club Secretary is sufficient as no money is exchanged and we don’t want or need a donation receipt.

DONATION TO QUINTE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB
The 145.150 VHF and 444.975 UHF repeaters at Alnwick Hill are being donated to the Campbellford Radio Club on the basis that both Campbellford and Cobourg are in Northumberland County, and that there is efficiency in relationships and in serving the County in times of emergency by having both sets of Northumberland County repeaters (KFR and the Cobourg Repeaters) under common ownership. I understand the Tri-County Campbellford Club has merged with QARC, so the donation letter is addressed to QARC.
I would recommend that Brian Redden be requested to manage this new site re interfacing with the broadcast engineers at CFMX and generally managing the amateur equipment and access. Brian's experience in managing commercial broadcasting/telecom industry relationships would be valuable to interface with CFMX personnel.
