As Randy Mentioned at the meeting last night he has acquired a lot of Cisco
SPA 504 ip phones. Each club member can have one phone for free, they are
$15 to non members. They are fully supported by Hamshack Hotline and our
Meshphone System. All phones have been tested and are fully functional with
some minor cosmetic wear.

The phones we have did not come with power supplys you have several options
for this you may have a 5v 2.5a wall wart lieing around.

You can purchase one:

12 Volt Power Supply - 2.5 Amp Standard (12V 2.5A DC) Adapter
https://a.co/d/fhxbC11

You can power it off of 48v POE some of you may already have these devices
or you can purchase one:

DSLRKIT Gigabit 48V 30watt PoE Injector Adapter Power Over Ethernet 802.3at
af UBNT AP 1000Mbps https://a.co/d/2Pq1eeN

*Hamshack Hotline vs Meshphone*

If you want to use it on hamshack hotline you just need a power supply and
a wired internet connection.

If you want to use it on our Meshphone System you will need to setup a
AREDN node.

List of supported hardware is available here:
https://www.arednmesh.org/content/supported-platform-matrix

There are several cheaper options however we would not recommend the gli
net options ourselves and some other friends have experienced issues with
killing it with the software up date and just general quality issues with
the port. If you choose to go this route we cannot provide support for
loading the software.

Our recommendation is available here:

MikroTik hAP ac lite Dual-concurrent Access Point (RB952Ui-5ac2nD-US)
https://a.co/d/acipdNz

So you might ask why would you invest the extra money in an AREDN node?

Well first of all you get to play with th3 AREDN microwave technology,
although currently the nodes will be linked via internet, when we move to
phase 3 of the HamWAN plan you will be able to access the network via rf in
most places with some small equipment investments. Which means local
numbers will be available even when the internet or power is out (provided
you have a way to power your own gear).

Our Meshphone Server is trunked to Hamshack Hotline this means you can dial
any Hamshack Hotline number and any hamshack hotline user can dial you.

We can provide local support if your phone is on the local mesh we can
access it to help troubleshoot or set it up.

The Meshphone Server is maintained by club members.

I hope this answers many questions please contact me if you would like an
extension on the meshphone server.

As Randy stated him, harmen and myself all have phones at this time so if
you are interested in one please contact who you are closest too.
