Monday, Randy (VE3RWN), Rick (VE3IQZ) and Harmen (VE3EMA), performed
comprehensive tests to VE3PBO repeater, antenna and cables. We
discovered a significant level of noise in around the VE3PBO's input
frequency that we feel is causing VE3PBO's inability to hear weaker
signals. Instead of spending a lot of time and effort trying to
determine where this noise is coming from with the likelihood of not
being able to provide a solution, we are proposing to move VE3PBO's
frequency up the band, free of noise.

Wednesday evening *after the ARES net*, Barry (VE3BLM) will be hosting a
*VE3PBO Repeater Test Net* and are inviting everyone to check in to this
net to help determine if the proposed new frequency provides significant
improvement.  During the net, VE3PBO's 146.625 MHz frequency will
temporarily be disabled along with All-Star and Echolink.

The purpose of this net is to determine if weaker stations are able to
get into VE3PBO easier on this proposed new frequency.  If you are
getting into VE3PBO very strongly without noise, then try dropping your
power level or try getting in with a handheld. Please be patient as we
analyze signal reports for all individuals.

*PROCEDURE:*

 1. *Pre-program your radio(s) ahead of time to **147.015 MHz  (+)
    repeater offset, no tone.*
 2. *Check-in into net on VE3PBO on 146.625 MHz to set a baseline of
    signal reports
    *
 3. *Barry will then announce that we will QSY to 147.015 Mhz ***(+)* at
which time Randy and Rick will swap out the repeater.*
 4. *Either Randy or Rick will announce when new frequency is ready to
    test.*
 5. *Barry will resume net on new frequency.*
 6. *Berry will close the net where Randy and Rick will swap back in
    VE3PBO's 146.625 repeater.*
 7. *Randy or Rick will announce normal resumption of VE3PBO operating
    frequency.
    *

Thank you for assistance.
