[PARC] Quinte Amateur Radio Club joint zoom meeting.

I think Randy said it best.  Colabouration is good.  If we can have an open portion for presentations etc and a closed portion for club business.

Radio Club meetings usually consist of "Club Business", and then "Presentation or Program".
The concerns discussed here about joint meetings seems to focus on just the "Club Business" part of the meeting, and/or voting on "Club Business".
ie: You dont want non-members being active in club business.

Perhaps keeping the business portion of the meeting separate from the presentation/program part, and inviting members of other clubs to visit just for the presentation/program part would make this acceptable to all.

There are many benefits to collaboration and information exchange between clubs. Physical distance has always limited this in the past.

Life has given us Lemons during this pandemic. But embracing Zoom and inviting new Hams to join club meetings from a distance expands our circle of ham friends, exposes us to new  ideas in our hobby and makes Lemonade from those Lemons :-)

I can forsee that there are a few concerns arising with this open ended plan.
We run the risk of losing our uniquely run meetings where we speak openly about things. Some of which (at times) should be kept within the club.
Each club presently concern themselves with local issues from their area. The Quinte club issues center around the north shore of Lake Ontario through to Kingston, while PARC is focused on the top end of Northumberland County, the Peterborough area.  and up towards Lindsay.
There is the also the problem with voting rights and the difficulty of tabulating them when part of the  meeting is via zoom where it will be hard to determine who is a member of our club.
There are issues surrounding the loss of club privacy.
I do not agree that we should extend an open ended invitation to the Quinte club.
Maybe we could have the odd joint meeting when the 2 clubs have similar issues.
