I'm putting together a list of members who are interested in volunteering to help fellow hams with antenna work - building, raising, lowering, repairing, tower work and climbing, etc.
Please send this message to PARC members and ask them to contact me at VE3AXT at RAC.CA<mailto:VE3AXT at RAC.CA> with an expression of interest in participating. I'd like them to indicate any particular skills and experience that they have that will help us to put together an effective work crew. This should also include any limitations of which they want us to be aware.
Work like this is offered as friendly support, ham to ham, and it's understood by all, I'm sure, that if a similar need arises, the favour will be returned in some way. I'll be suggesting to those requesting assistance that a show of appreciation at the time such as lunch or snacks, and drinks would be an appropriate gesture. As mentioned at the meeting last night, we ask that alcoholic beverages not be offered or consumed on these occasions.
Since there's always a chance that something could go wrong with an undertaking like this, we must be sure to have adequate insurance coverage. I assume that most home-owner hams will have liability insurance for their property, and I recall that the Club also has insurance that should cover our needs. I ask Steve and the executive to check this to make sure that there won't be any problems of that sort, please.

To those members who have an antenna project with which they need a hand please send me a message via email (VE3AXT at RAC.CA<mailto:VE3AXT at RAC.CA>) telling me about your project, particulars of what you need us to help you with, plus a date and time. Once I've got that info I'll put together a work team, probably 10 members at the most.

Looking forward to some fun times together putting up antennas.
