Greetings, Fellow Villagers!
( Steve KØCI writing on behalf of Tom KCØYVW this time )
Don't forget that this Saturday (June 27th, 2026) is the 4th Saturday of the
month, and that can only mean that it's time for our monthly V7ARC Club
Meeting
and breakfast at the Village Inn at 7384 Duryea Drive off of Woodmen Road.
We will have the "official" meeting and club related discussions at
0900hrs, but you
will want to get there much earlier for breakfast and chit-chat with your
fellow hams
and maybe even a new face or two.
Raffle tickets for the PPRAA Megafest will be available for cash purchase.
THEN, shortly after the meeting,... FIELD DAY,...!
Doug ADØTP will miss the Saturday morning meeting in order to occupy a
"first come, first served" gazebo at Widefield Community Park for a Field
Day opportunity!
The event starts at noon in our time zone; the park closes at dusk. This is
for Saturday ONLY.
Please search your favorite map app for Widefield Community Park and get
directions!
The park is at the intersection of Fontaine Boulevard and Drury Lane in ZIP
code 80911.
Steve KØCI will join Doug 'TP as soon as possible after the breakfast
meeting at Village Inn.
(basically a straight shot southbound on Powers Boulevard from Woodmen to
Fontaine)
The park's parking lot is accessible from Drury and our station will be
visible from there.
We will have talk-in capability on ADØTP/R, FM, both 447.775(-) and
146.850(-) MHz, CTCSS 156.7 Hz.
We will have CW and SSB capability on 40m thru 6m, presumably running Class
1A (one station on battery power).
Steve 'CI's favorite thing on Field Day is to enable other operators to get
on HF CW, especially if it's their first time.
Bring your favorite straight key or paddles and we can rig you up to an
Icom 735 with alligator leads.
We will also have a nice Heil microphone with a wind filter and an
adjustable boom stand if you prefer to talk.
And, of course, we have clipboards, logs sheets, dupe sheets, pencils,
sharpeners, erasers, and scratch pads.
MANY THANKS to Steve KEØRSI for offering his "McKEE RANCH"! ... TOO BAD it
DIDN'T WORK OUT this time.
Steve 'RSI, you have been SO GENEROUS with your hospitality toward V7ARC
these past several years!
You're a GENUINE GOOD GUY and we might not say "THANK YOU" often enuf!
OK. I'll hit "Send" in a minute. Please write back with any questions.
I think I'll visit the PPRAA FD site (parking lot at Mountain View Electric
Association on East Woodmen) on Sunday.
73 and CUL,
= Steve KØCI
