Fellow Sidebanders,

THAT WAS A FUN NET, the roundtable discussion on planning and packing.

I FORGOT to even mention that:
I have a 3-element aluminum 6-meter beam that I can carry easily on top of
my car,
in case anybody is bringing a radio that covers "the magic band";
and an 11-element aluminum and an 8-element homemade 70-centimeter beams
that could be paired with the UHF side of Doug's IC-820H.
Since it's convenient for me bring these, I will, and I won't be insulted
if we don't use them.

When I use 2-meter antennas temporarily at home to experiment on the net,
I typically C-clamp them to scrap lumber or pipes or a stepladder.
That only needs to stay in place for a couple of hours, so I don't worry
about wind or ice.

Also, I could bring my Icom IC-735 in case we want a backup to Art's FT-991,
though it sounded like somebody was already bringing a spare HF rig.
(Rick has a full-on mobile setup in his truck that I remember from last
year.)
My 12-V DC power cord for the '735 or the '820 is two feet long
and has ring-tongue 12-gauge lugs at the source end.

I'll carry my Yaesu VX-8 handheld.

Seeya on Saturday morning for setup, and then back in the afternoon to hang
out.

73,

 = Steve
