Steve,I'll be around for the next net, I've had an unplanned trip to Louisiana since the 5th.I used a piece of granite with 1000 grit sandpaper and water. I did over shoot the frequency by a couple of hundred hertz(crystal frequency), so I used a permanent marker to "pen" the crystal back down to where I wanted it.
