West Gulf ARRL Members,
Only a few days remain to get your ballot for West Gulf Division
Director and Vice Director election into the ARRL.
November 15 is the deadline.
West Gulf Director Coy Day and Vice Director Dave Woolweaver are
standing for reelection.
During the 2007 Texas legislative session Coy appointed David to lead
the Texas political action effort. David organized the Austin
Legislative Action Assistance group to represent Amateur Radio
interests on several legislative issues. This organized effort was
successful in supporting legislation beneficial to Amateur Radio (SB
11, Homeland Security Bill) and defeating several cell phone bills
that would have made mobile operation tough.
Coy was early to recognize the BPL issues for ham
radio. He appointed Jory McIntyre as BPL Assistant Director to bring
ARRL resources to the battle in the West Gulf Division. Ed Hare of
the ARRL Lab is one of those resources and was of immeasurable
assistance here in Austin.
I have found both Coy and David to be reasonable folks a who work
hard at their ARRL "jobs". David and Coy are willing to listen and
work to improve the League and ham radio. Both answer questions
honestly and in a straight forward fashion.
Coy and David deserve your support. I hope you will consider voting for
them.

I'm not saying I have been a HAM for a long time, but...
my first radio was steam powered!
