Section State
Government Liaison. He and his team in Austin were
successful in
keeping amateur radio excluded from Cell Phone Bills
and others. More

WEST GULF CONVENTION -- HAMCOM 2007
Ham-Com 2007 is scheduled for Friday, June 8 and
Saturday, June 9 at
the Plano Centre in Plano, TX. The online admission
discount of $3.00
is available through May 30. DX dinner tickets are
still available and
can be purchased online. This year's grand prizes are
an ICOM IC706
MkIIG and a Yaesu 857D. The online registration prize
is an Alinco
DR635T.
The Ham-Com Board of Directors has announced that the
event will give
away $100.00 in door prizes each hour during the event
- $25 every 15
minutes!. The event runs 18 hours over two days so a
total of $1,800
will be awarded. Winners can use the cash door prizes
as they please.
Recipients of cash door prizes will still be included
in the grand
prize drawings.
There are over 80 hours of speakers, workshops and
special interest
group meetings scheduled at Ham-Com 2007. All parking
is F-R-E-E and
on-site. Eight hotels near the venue are providing
special discounts
for Ham-Com attendees. The tailgate market has been
moved closer to
the building and other improvements have been added to
the event. The
commercial area is completely sold-out as is the
indoor flea market.
All indications is that this is going to be a dynamite
hamfest. For

As a special attraction, the first National D-Star
Users Meeting will
be held Saturday evening from 6 -10 PM. System
administrators and
users will meet to discuss the new uses and
applications of this

world-wide locations as well as from across the US.
