The news continues to be good.  An ARRL official from South Texas was able to
speak with the Chief of Staff  of Rep. Mendezdez's and Sen. Wentworth's 
offices
Wednesday morning. He  received assurances that amateur radio would be 
exempted
from coverage by  HB201 and SB254. They are having problems developing the
correct language  because of a lack of technical understanding on the part of 
the
legislative  staff, but progress is being made.
