In addition to speaking at the Belton hamfest this Saturday, Paul WA5WCP
will have his portable 1296 MHz EME setup up and running at the
fleamarket. He hopes to be setup Friday night for moon rise. Moon set is
just about the time the fleamarket opens so plan to check out Paul at
6AM before the fleamarket begins and you can hear some echoes and hear
Paul work some stations.

I am planning a quick portable operation at one of the local ham fests..

the Ham Expo at Belton as part of a presentation and demo on 7 Oct 2006.

If everything goes as planned, I will be on the moon on 23cm at moon
rise about (00:00Z 7 Oct) or ( 7pm Friday 6 Oct lcl)  from grid EM11GA
in Belton Tx.. 31.03N 97.48W around 1296.035 plus / minus any noise.  I
will also tune the low end looking for any stations.

I will work random contacts during the EU window and any other US till
the activity is gone and then also if local horizon allows, the western
window till moon set (12:40Z).  I plan to leave the station assembled
for inspection by guys at the hamfest till PM lcl.

This location is only about 2 hrs from my home, and hopefully this is
the first of a continueing "weekend EMExpedition series" to activate
more grid squares and stimulate interest in EME.

I would appreciate any stations helping with the demo, particularily
after 11:00Z.
