TWIAR FUNDING STILL NEEDED
Well folks, we put up a "Funding Needed" report during the month of March
on web site.
As of today, April 02nd, we have received a few donations from some very
generous people around the country, including a few members of our own
announcing staff.
These donations received will be utilized for our March and April transmission
expenses with WBCQ Shortwave Radio. After that, our bank account is drained.
We cannot continue our shortwave broadcast program beyond the end of April
unless sufficient funding is raised to cover transmission and production
expenses.
Along these lines, we have tried different paths. The Google Ads have been
here on the web site for several years now, and they only raise about $100
per year for us. We have tried approaching several podcast advertising
agencies, but have reach nothing but dead ends, and un-returned phone calls.
I continue to try and find an advertiser in the technology/amateur radio field
that may be interested in advertising on our broadcast program, but no takers
yet.
If you happen to be a potential advertiser, I can tell you that This Week in
Amateur Radio International is indeed a bargain. We're looking to raise around
$50/week. This will get you our podcast audience, which we estimate to be
severl thousand downloads, airtime on WBCQ shortwave 7.415kHz, airtime on the
W0KIE Satellite Radio network, and internet users that stream our
content from our
website. Please call 518.283.3665, and I will be happy to discuss any details
with you. We'll even produce your spots for you if you like.
So here we are. Our final broadcast on WBCQ will be Sunday April 26, 2007,
unless we raise sufficient funds, or better yet, find an advertiser, to cover
our broadcast and production expenses.
This will not have an effect on our ham radio on air services, This Week in
Amateur Radio or This Week in Amateur Radio Headline News. These will continue
as always being supported by local amateur radio clubs and individual
amateurs.
Please consider helping to support our news services to the amateur radio
community. You can do so easily by clicking on the PayPal logo on the upper
right of our web page www.twiar.org, or if you prefer snail mail, you can send
us a check to our mailing address:

go directly into program support and production/distribution expenses.
No one involved with the services receives any compensation. We're all
volunteers.
The future of our broadcast service, This Week in Amateur Radio International,
is now in your hands.
73 from our staff and I here in Albany, New York. We look forward to being
able to serve you with the latest amateur radio news in the future.
