Hello everyone..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the staff
and crew at This Week in Amateur Radio.

As the holidays draw near, I wanted to drop everyone
an update about the financial situation with This Week
in Amateur Radio.

Looking back over 2006, This Week in Amateur Radios
HAM SERVICE, received minimal funding. Most of the
equipment maintenance, and production costs have come
out-of-pocket by our Albany staff.

Heres the 2006 stats:

21 weeks this year, the ham service had funding
grants of $20/week.

31 weeks this year, the ham service had no outside
funding sources.

I am glad to report that the HAM SERVICE has received
some funds to begin the New Year. January and February
expenses are covered. The rest of the new year remains
without any funding.

------

THIS WEEK IN AMATEUR RADIO INTERNATIONAL has
fared a little better. TWIARi production and
transmission costs for air time on WBCQ costs a little
more than $150/month.

TWIARi had funding for 9 out of the past 12 months.

As we close out 2006, the October and November expenses
have been paid. Our December transmission expenses are
also covered, but in the short term, as we enter the new
year, Januaries and Februaries expenses are not covered.
The remainder of 2007 is also not covered.

-----------

This Week in Amateur Radio has grown with more coverage
via podcasts, and has picked up more repeaters and
relay stations in the last few months. Our all volunteer staff
has grown to include many new voices on the air.

In an effort to help support the TWIAR family of programs,
we have added sponsored click-thru ads on our web site.
These generate some revenue, but it accumulates very slowly.
We see about $100 a year from these ads.

We had hoped that TWIAR International would have advertising
running in the program on WBCQ to help pay for the air time
charges. The program is currently running ARRL and Ad Council
public service announcements in the avails for ads. If anyone
reading this would like to buy a 30 second ad, please call us!

However, the staff here in Albany is tapped. If TWIAR Ham and
TWIAR International are to continue, we need to be able to
cover the expenses. And, just as a reminder, no one associated
with This Week in Amateur Radio derives any income from it.

All funding received is channeled back into the program to cover
production and transmission expenses, and equipment maintenance.

And remember, no donation is too small. It all adds up.

Donating to TWIAR is easy. Just visit our web site at
www.twiar.org. On the top of the page on the right is a
PayPal donation button you can click. If you prefer,
you can mail your donation to us at:

This Week in Amateur Radio
P.O. Box 30
Sand Lake, New York 12153.

This Week in Amateur Radio is operated by a non-profit
corporation called Community Video Associates, Inc. and
is registered non-profit in New York State. All donations
are tax deducible.

If no funding is received soon, we will be forced to make
some cutbacks. Please help us out. This Week in Amateur Radio
is the most up-to-the-minute amateur radio news service on
the planet. We would like to continue to be so in 2007.

Thank You.
