Well, as you can probably tell, there have been fewer articles written about
amateur radio's involvement in the recovery efforts of Hurricane Katrina as
of late.
Officially, recovery efforts are to where amateur radio is not needed any
more in a critical phase. Also, hurricane's Rita and Wilma have been
diverting amateur radio efforts into those affected areas.
Amateur radio has received a glowing recognition from many media outlets,
including the national networks, as a vital and necessary tool, despite its
'primitive' purpose, but, as many have seen, reverting to the primitive
means of communication has been often the most effective.
And so, we will no longer update this news feed, and any new information
will be fed over to our primary news feed on "twiar.xml" and "twiar.rss".
We thank everyone for sending us all the material and news items for this
feed. We hope you gained much from these articles. Also, thanks go to all
the media outlets that highlighted the essential that is amateur radio.
