NOW OFFERING LOW BIT RATE
REAL AUDIO DOWNLOAD.


Effective with Edition #561, This Week in
Amateur Radio will make available for download
each week, a new low-bit rate real audio file.  We
hope this will make things easier for our dial-up
affiliates.

I have toyed around with the idea of making the
service available in new and existing codecs that
are out there. These include, FLAC, MP-4/AAC,
OGG-VORBIS, and WIndows Media 9.

Unfortunately, the lossless codecs make for huge
file sizes that we cannot accommodate at this time.

So, TWIAR will remain in standard MP-3, and Realaudio
plus the new low bit rate real audio file.
