Elderly Man Hams It Up
 
An 88-year-old man in Kingsford is hamming it up across the world,
thanks to some help from his friends at Manor Care Nursing Home.  Jay
Jennings (W8HFS) has been a ham radio operator for years.  To improve
the reception in his room, a 42-foot antenna was taken from his house
yesterday and attached to the nursing home.  Installing the antenna
is part of Manor Care's Heart's Desire Program and was made possible
with the help of the local ham radio club.

Employees at Manor Care say they do not expect to be able to get Jay
out of his room and away from his new and improved radio anytime
soon.
