This Week in Amateur Radio
Updated update for June 2003.
LISTENERS, AND AFFILIATE CLUBS COME TO TWIARS RESCUE
Hello again. This is the updated update for June 2003.
Well, less than a week after announcing that This Week in Amateur Radio is
in financial straights, some funding has come into the operation. In fact,
as of today (June 5, 2003) we have received $215.00.
I will extend the loan I made to TWIAR to cover our past debt, and all of
the funds received to date and in the future, will go to covering expenses
related to producing This Week in Amateur Radio.
To date then, we have received sufficient funding, to carry us through
edition number 539 which will air on August 09, 2003. As stated before,
TWIAR will require $500. to stay in production through the end of the
year. We need to raise $285. additional, for TWIAR to complete 2003.
Remember, TWIAR has never been corporate supported. We've always been
listener and affiliate club supported. And, as usual, you have never
lets us down.
One idea that Greg and I came up with would be to seek out banner advertising
to help offset the costs of our web hosting. If you would like to place a
banner ad on the site, please contact Greg at [email protected].
Now as promised, here is who is underwriting This Week in Amateur Radio
through August 9, 2003:
Kent Peterson KC0DGY Edition 530 > 533
Minneapolis, MN
Jim Wishner Edition 534
St. Paul, MN
John Creel WB3GXW Edition 535 > 538
Silver Springs, MD
!!! THANK YOU !!!
Remember, as we say each week on the service, "you keep us on the air".
All of us involved with TWIAR would like to see it continue, but it cannot
without your support.
Finally, if you air the service on your repeater, or simplex frequency, or
if you listen to our service, either on the amateur airwaves, or streamed on
the net somewhere, please check to see if the source is listed on our
affiliates page. If it is not listed, please send me the information and I
will forward it to Greg to add to page, and see that the source gets a plug
on the air.
Remember that TWIAR is always looking for new talent. If you would like to
join our anchor rotation, or produce a weekly/monthly segment for us, by
all means get in touch with us!
And finally, check out our new DISCUSSION FORUMS! We have many topics
available and all of the TWIAR staff checks into them regularly.
One last note, some of the staff here in Albany have been playing around
with ECHOLINK lately, so if your online, look for us, we're looking for you!
Remember, Community Video Associates is a non-profit New York corporation.
Your contributions on an individual or corporate level is tax deductible.
I will update this again in a few weeks, or sooner if more funding comes in!
Until then, pass the hat, and 73.
