Here is a summary of news items covered in this weeks edition #473 of
"This Week in Amateur Radio", North America's satellite-delivered
on-the-air
audio bulletin service, for the week ending 11 May 2000.  This weeks
edition is anchored by our technical director, George Bowen, W2XBS, from

our studio/headquarters in Albany, New York.

3.  The FCC flip-flops again, and now won't require DOB information from
hams.

6.  The weekly propagation forecast report.
7.  Amateurs in many mid-western states actviate during bad weather.
8.  Nominations are due May 24th for Phillip J. McGan Memorial Antenna

repeater on 145.15 megahertz serving the twin cities.

on the internet and also on commercial C-Band satellite via the
"W0KIE Satellite Network" Saturdays at 9:00 PM (EST) on SES Americom
AMC-7 communications satellite, transponder 5 (H), 7.5 Mhz wideband
analog audio subcarrier, located at 137 degrees west longitude in
equatorial geosynchronous orbit.

"This Week in Amateur Radio" is a weekly amateur radio voice
bulletin service, produced by Community Video Associates, Inc.,
a New York State not-for-profit corporation.  Our mailing address
