Here is a summary of news items covered in edition #455 of
"This Week in Amateur Radio", North America's satellite-delivered
audio bulletin service, for the week ending 05 January 2002. Sitting in

2.  An FCC denial leaves the league eyeing congressional action on

3.  The FCC adopys rules to refarm the 698-746 MHz band.
4.  E-911 Phase 2 service begins wireless caller locating data
transmission.
5.  KPH coast station ops to be on the air for ARRL straight key night.
6.  Special event station commemorates ARRL trans-atlantic tests from
1921.
7.  Special event station K1D (kid) will prime the pump for Kids Day on
Air!
8.  The Gateway 160 Meter Net Report with Vern Jackson, WA0RCR.
9.  The Weekly propagation forecast report.
10. A major flaw is detected in Windows XP system, FBI says protect
yourself.
11. ARRL study panel reccommends eliminating Novice Bands. A revisit.
12. The FCC amends Part 15 rules to allow higher power at 24 Ghz. A
revisit.
13. Antenna Modeling Course is next ARRL Certification Program offering.

14. TWIAR is scouring the bands for new anchors and voice talent!
15. Amateur Radio History Headlines with Bill Continelli, W2XOY.
16. KF9MP looks at swapping antenna rotors on towers.

18. Radio Norway cesases transmitting on the shortwave bands.

equatorial geosynchronous orbit.

bulletin service, produced by Community Video Associates, Inc.,
