Very strange that I have rfi on 40 meters only
it manifests itself in my inability to do anything on the computer
running my logging software during a 40 meter transmission.
ferrites on all connecting wires/cables
years ago my Elmer suggested using a counterpoise, a half-wave wire
connected to the ground lug of the radio.
That worked back then.
Many antennas ago.
But the problem has resurfaced so I did indeed cut myself a 33' hung of
wire, put a lug on the end and ran it through the wall of my basement
shack and across my back yard lawn.
No luck, still have that freeze up of the computer when operating 40 meters.
(Incidentally 40 is the ONLY band I have this problem on)
Rig is a Flex6K and the rfi freeze up of 40 meters occurs all the way
down to 10-20 watts.
Any suggestions people?
PS; the antenna is a 80-40 trap dipole up in the clear with center
supported from a yardarm on the tower mast. 10, 12, 15, 17, 20 yagi is
above the yardarm. 6 meter yagi above that.
