[TVI-RFI-EMI] can I spray paint torroids

[FireBrick]

I have many type 43 and type 47? ferrite cores.
But I don't know how to tell the difference other than to paint a 43 or other mix onto the
core with a little white model paint.
Any body know how to tell the difference and whether this little marking will hurt?
