[TVI-RFI-EMI] questions for you guys

I bought a new Logitech cordless rechargeable mouse. The mouse has a wall
wart that powers the receiver/recharger unit.
I previously had a Logitech cordless mouse that ate batteries a bit fast but
worked with no problems in my kw station.

So I was a amazed today to try and work a station on 10 meter rtty with a kw
to find it would freeze during transmission.

After playing with simple clamp on type ferrites, moving the unit and it's
cords I wrapped the cord from the receiver to the mouse port around a Amidon
ferrite rod.
Still no joy with the unit sitting on the basement floor.

Was really getting frustrated and picked up the unit and laid in on a little
shelf above the basement floor approx. 2 feet.
No more mouse freeze ups.

Now I do have copper pipe running in a grid in the concrete basement floor
for hot water heat.

And I must say this now. I have a very well engineered single point ground
system consisting of copper sheet stock, and ground rods right outside the
basement wall.

But I do have my equipment also connected to those copper floor grid. (When
I first built the shack the reasoning was that the copper pipe which also
contacted the wet earth below the concrete would also serve as a ground.

But did I do myself no favors?
Before I go climb under the desk and disconnect all that very carefully
dressed and clamped copper sheet stock, do you think it hurts or helps to
have the ground rods, electrical service ground rod, incoming water pipe and
that copper grid all connected together?
