(it seems like my first message never made it, so I'm resending it)
Hello all,
I have a 15" monitor that produces a lot of noise, from HF to VHF (and =
possibly higher - can't test).
Since it was a gift, I'm not willing to dump it and just get a new one, =
but rather have the problem fixed, or at least significantly reduced.
What I tried so far: loads of chokes, wrapping it in about a pound of =
aluminum foil and went as far as totally spraying the inside with =
EMI/RFI shield coating. All grounds appear to be good, and I added some =
to the monitor by itself.
So far no luck. The problem remains, doesn't even go away a little bit.
The noise is quite strong, up to S7 on 10 meters (and more on 15) and =
appears about every 40 kHz. One day I thought I solved it by changing =
the screen's refresh rate; but after I moved to a different frequency I =
found out that it just moves the interference...
So I'm looking for some advice. Anything that might help is welcome!
Thanks in advance, happy holidays, 73,
Gert - K5WW
