The excitement of Field Day is over and we have a few days to recover.  

Time to get excited over 13 Colonies Event that is nice and easy.   Lots of time to finish and states that we can reach on the east coast with ease. 

13 Colonies is starting Wednesday, July 1!  

What is it?  This is an event to find 13 designated stations in the original 13 Colonies (states).  Plus, two special stations!

The event will run until July 7.

People are encouraged to spot on DX Summit.  

I found an app called Hamalert that you can put on your cellphone.   You put in all stations you want and mode preferred.   The app will tell you which frequency and mode that station is working. Very handy for those hard to find stations.  

It's a fun event.  Last year I participated and got all of the 12 Colonies for a clean sweep with my portable antenna on FT8.  But if you prefer CW or SSB, they are doing that as well!
