Hi Mike/K6UMO,
Hopefully, you are backing up your computer on a regular basis. If so use the default locations for where the standard messages are stored for the WSJT-X app. The, try to restore them using you backups.
Here’s the results from an Internet search I just did
“ The default locations for WSJT-X standard messages are typically found in the program's installation directory, which varies based on the operating system. For Windows, the default path is usually within the "Program Files" folder, while for Linux and macOS, it may be in the user's home directory under a hidden folder. Check the installation directory for specific paths.
Default Locations for WSJT-X Standard Messages
The default locations for WSJT-X standard messages depend on the operating system you are using. Below are the typical paths for each system:
Windows
- Path:
C:\Program Files\WSJT-X\ - Details: Standard messages are usually located within the installation directory under the "Program Files" folder`
Linux
- Path:
~/.wsjt-x/ - Details: For Linux users, the standard messages are typically found in a hidden folder within the user's home directory.
macO`
- Path:
~/Library/Application Support/WSJT-X/ - Details: On macOS, the messages are stored in a hidden folder under the Application Support directory in the user's Library.
I was playing with wsjtx and managed to erase all of the standard messages. I have tried everything, including reloading the program and still no messages. Does anyone have an idea of how to get them back?
Mike
