Good afternoon, Amazing Volunteers!

 

The Villages Recreation & Parks Department is seeking volunteers for some upcoming special events, and we would love your help!

Spanish Springs 5k AND Easter Week Camp Villages

 

The last Running of the Squares 5K of the season will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Spanish Springs Town Square. We need volunteers to help man water stations along the race route, to hold pacing signs at the starting line, pass out finisher medals at the end, and more! There will be a volunteer information meeting on Thursday, April 2, at 1pm. On the day of the race, you will be needed from about 7am-9:30am depending on your volunteer role. We need about 20 volunteers to run this event.

 

Easter Week Camp Villages will take place at a variety of times and locations from Monday, March 30 through Thursday, April 2, 2026. We need volunteers at the activities listed below.

*All sessions would involve about 30 minutes prep time, 1 hour activity, and 30 minutes cleanup for a total commitment of about 2 hours. Extra brownie points if you can do back-to-back sessions! 😊

Plant Pals (Craft)	Wednesday, April 1	11am, 1pm, and 3pm	Big Cypress Rec	6 TOTAL – 2 at each session
Golf Cart Scavenger Hunt (Games)	Wednesday, April 1	1pm	Chatham Rec, Sterling Heights Rec, or Manatee Rec	6 TOTAL – 2 per location

We need about 28 volunteers to run these activities!
