This contest is always a great one for having the world come to us. As usual, plans to do a serious effort always get torpedoed by family commitments. I did not get on until Saturday morning and was happy to see 10 open. I scrolled down the band picking off new multipliers with just one call. Just like the old days with beams.

I bounced around as multipliers built up on the other bands with 15 being the most productive. I was able to put in most of my time on Sunday and had to struggle on 10 as conditions went south (north?).

After some 40 years of contesting, I learned a new tactic when encountering a pile-up on a rare station. I used to hammer it out with everyone when I had the muscle to compete. With a vertical antenna with less power, I finally realized I needed to move up or down a few dozen hertz to be clear of the mob. Two or three calls and I got him. Wish I had known this 40 years ago.
