Calling all TVARCers!

As the ARRL states, "Field Day is ham radio's open house. Every June, more than 31,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio."

TVARC has the enviable operating environment offered by the Sumter County Sheriff's air-conditioned trailer. It's palatial compared to many other clubs' conditions.

Initial setup is late Friday afternoon with the majority Saturday morning. Even if you've not signed up, consider dropping by.

Field Day isn't just about setting up, it's about operating. We will have 3 transceivers available for use for the 24 hours of Field Day: SSB, CW, & FT8. Arithmetically, that's 72 potential hours of operation. Practically, we aren't counting on a lot of operating between Saturday midnight and 6:00AM Sunday morning. So far we have 4 hours of operating lined up, so there are plenty left!

If you're reluctant to get on the air, fear not; Field Day is for YOU! There will be plenty of fellow hams to assist & encourage you!

At the time I'm writing this, we have SSB open from 5:00PM Saturday until 2:00PM Sunday, CW open from 3:00PM Saturday and FT8 is open all 24 hours!

Reply to [email protected] to be added to the list. Just let me know when and what (SSB, CW, FT8). I'll work to resolve conflicts before/during the TVARC meeting on Thursday 6/19. Don't delay!
