Weekly nets you can join are listed on our clubs home page at k4vrc.com. Handhelds such as the  Baofeng work reasonably well in The Villages to get started. We hope to hear you on our weekly Ragchew Net this coming Monday at 7pm. Please see the website for frequency and pl tone!



Good Day TVARC.

Having just obtained my general class license I'm putting together a station.  First thing I want to do is join weekly nets on 2m and 70cm.  Will appreciate any suggestions toward obtaining a good XCVR.  

Will a handheld unit do the job?  Which makes are preferred?  Should I think about a base unit and antenna for net contacts?
