I just found out that Wayne, N4FP, and Marty, N4GL, are in the process of selling their Ocala home, and moving to North Carolina to be with family.

In the past few years, Wayne and I got together and did a mobile operation from 30 or so Florida counties over the two days, using Wayne’s car, Flex, and laptop.  But those will no longer be available.

Tom, K3WT, and I had planned to use Wayne’s setup to try our hand this year (April 26-27), but seems we’re back to square one.

I know this is a longshot, but is there anyone in the club with mobile expertise and perhaps some of the hardware (radio, inverter, antenna) we would need?  Both Tom and I have late model cars and I’ve heard that they don’t like external devices attached to their electrical systems.

And, not just for that reason, we’ll sure miss Wayne and Marty!
